Dear Graduates,
Do you still remember when Principal Chris mentioned on your first day at the school that “everyone has their own unique story”? This beautiful and comforting community environment, the inclusive and open culture, the diverse curriculum, and the opportunities from so many clubs… Today, we are gathered here in the auditorium to witness each and every one of your unique achievements and growth. First of all, on behalf of all the parents of this year’s graduating class, I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to every educator at SHBS.
In just over two months, you will be embarking on a new chapter in your lives. As you step into this new world with dreams and excitement, we, as your parents, see the youthful innocence on your faces and wish you all the best on the grander stage ahead. Let us also offer you a few heartfelt pieces of advice:
·Be kind to yourself and to others. As the ancient saying goes: “Emulate those who are virtuous, and reflect on the faults of those who are not.” Stepping out into the world is a great opportunity for personal growth. Cultivate your character first; only then can you truly succeed.
·Absorb the essence of diverse cultures to enrich and shape your worldview. It will become the foundation of your certainty, courage, and wisdom when facing life’s many challenges.
·Value systematic learning in your chosen field. Stay up-to-date with cutting-edge technologies and information. Build your own network that empowers and supports you. We hope you will become a magnetic source of energy.
·Continue developing lifelong habits in sports and the arts—they will be the best remedies for overcoming loneliness and life’s hardships.
Dear children, when you’re out exploring the world, please don’t forget to share your new stories with us—your parents waiting at home. We love you always.
