2025 Graduation Ceremony

2025届毕业典礼上的总结寄语

Dear students, teachers, parents, Chairman Zheng, and all friends who care for SHBS:

Good morning! Thank you for all your efforts, support, and assistance! May all your wishes come true!

The theme of my speech today is “the power of mindset shift.”

Dear graduates, standing here today, watching you embark on new journeys, I’m reminded of a story from three years ago. A student once came to Hongrun Boyuan with a passion for math competitions, yet during her first group project, tears filled her eyes. The confidence she felt when solving problems alone suddenly vanished in a setting that demanded listening and collaboration—like a kite whose string had snapped.

The turning point came during an ordinary break. While helping a classmate explain a geometry question, she discovered that her coordinate-based approach offered a fresh perspective on the geometry model she knew well. She realized that the same mathematical proposition could be proven not only through “rigorous” logical deduction but also reconstructed through the “inspiration” sparked by teamwork.

When she no longer viewed “collaboration” as a “forced compromise” and instead embraced it as an opportunity to “witness the brilliance of diverse minds,” the friction that once caused anxiety transformed into joy of co-creation.

This, dear students, is the power of a “shift in mindset.” It is not self-abandonment but the courage to embrace coexistence—like the countless moments of “mindset shifts” you’ve experienced at Hongrun Boyuan: perhaps during sports day, your mindset shifted from “pursuing individual glory” to “cheering for the entire homeroom”; or when facing academic disagreements, you grew from “insisting on being right” to “understanding the value of differences”; or after failure, you realized that “temporary setbacks” are not endpoints but “keys to reshaping understanding.”

Dear Class of 2025, you are about to sail into broader seas. Ahead, you may face storms: the balance between independence and teamwork, the negotiation between self and community, or clashes between “old habits” and “new environments.” But remember: when fog obscures your path, try a “shift in mindset.” See “collaboration” as a chance to piece together a mosaic of ideas; view “disagreement” as a window to see the many facets of the world; understand “challenges” as new propositions awaiting your meaning.

Hongrun Boyuan has always believed that the purpose of education is not to cultivate solitary strong individual but to awaken in every soul of the ability to integrate different perspectives and seek for common prosperity. Today, what you take with you should not just be numbers on a transcript but the confidence in your hearts—that no matter the circumstance, you can transform “contradictions” into “leverage points for mutual success” and reframe “challenges” as “new possibilities for the team.”

Now, let us turn around—wave to the campus behind us, smile at the companions beside us, and bravely step toward tomorrow with the power of mindset shifts in your hand. For you already know: All answers lie in the glimmer of a shifted mindset. These glimmers, gathered, have long brewed into a galaxy lighting the way forward.

All answers lie in the glimmer of a shifted mindset. These glimmers, gathered, have long brewed into a galaxy lighting the way forward.

These words are for you, our graduates, but also for myselves—journeying souls facing challenges—and for every colleague, parent, and student striving together to build the Hongrun Boyuan community!

All answers lie in the glimmer of a shifted mindset. These glimmers, gathered, have long brewed into a galaxy lighting the way forward.

Thank you!
