Respected parents, dear students, teachers, and all friends who care about the development of Hongrun Boyuan,
As the New Year approaches, I extend my sincerest greetings and best wishes to everyone on behalf of the school!
Looking back on 2025, we continued to advance curriculum reform, making steady progress in project-based learning and interdisciplinary integration. Teachers and students achieved outstanding results in various academic and competency-building activities, showcasing the vibrancy of our "holistic education." This year, the school successfully launched a domestic bilingual program, realizing our vision of dual-track and dual-path education. We also revived the "Chinese Culture Promotion" project, welcoming students from Spain and Indonesia, and will host teachers and students from our partner school in the United Kingdom next April. Together, we have fostered a campus environment of care, respect, and exploration, laying a solid foundation for embracing the future.
Standing at the threshold of 2026, we must squarely face the transformative force that is artificial intelligence (AI). Confronting AI requires clear understanding, active engagement, and wise navigation.
For students, AI is a powerful "cognitive partner," not a "crutch" for thinking. The core of education is shifting from memorizing knowledge to cultivating abilities that AI cannot replicate—your curiosity, critical thinking, and resilience in solving complex problems. Please make good use of AI to expand your learning, but be vigilant against over-reliance. Always safeguard independent thinking and innovative insights, as these are your core competitive advantages that set you apart from machines.
For teachers, AI is an "intelligent collaborator," but you remain the "soul and helmsman" of the classroom. The role of teachers is continuously evolving: from lecturers to designers of learning environments, guides for human-machine collaboration, and guardians of growth. Proactively leverage AI to enhance teaching, while steadfastly upholding the "people-oriented" essence. Your companionship, guidance, and creativity remain irreplaceable.
The school will promote the integration of AI and education with a prudent and open-minded approach, avoiding pitfalls such as prioritizing hardware over competency or blindly adopting technology. Our path forward is clear:
1. Prioritize competencies by integrating AI literacy into the core capabilities of teachers and students;
2. Innovate teaching by exploring new paradigms for personalized and project-based learning;
3. Uphold ethics by establishing data security mechanisms and fostering a sense of responsibility in digital citizenship;
4. Co-build ecosystems by collaborating with purpose-driven technology companies to ensure technology serves education.
The true challenge posed by AI lies in whether we can cherish uniquely human qualities—empathy, creativity, critical thinking, and a sense of national and social responsibility.
In the new year, let us move forward with confidence. May we be like the resilient bamboo described by Zheng Banqiao, "clinging firmly to the green mountain, unshaken by winds from all directions." This "green mountain" represents our fundamental belief in "nurturing people," while the "winds from all directions" symbolize the technological tides of our times.
I believe that by adhering to the essence of education and keeping people at the center, we can transform "technological change" into "educational opportunities," cultivating future leaders who can not only master AI but also imbue it with warmth and wisdom.
Wishing everyone a joyful New Year, happiness for your families, and abundant growth and joy in 2026!
