编者:11月15日这周,上海宏润博源学校的同学们走出教室,走进上海这座充满魅力的城市,开展一系列基于课题项目的探究式学习。今年是我们建设上海项目开展的第二年,主题是“可持续性”上海——这也是应对全球气候危机,实现未来持续繁荣必须要做的课题。

During the week of 15 November, SHBS students embarked on a range of intensive inquiry- and project-based learning programs that take them out of traditional classrooms and into the amazing city they call home. For this second year of Building Shanghai, the program theme is sustainability:what’s required to confront our global climate emergency to continue thriving in the future.

在老师们的带领下,各小组同学调研了上海经济和文化的不同侧面,涉及到的话题包含生态多样性,可持续性时尚,现代农业与有机农业,新能源,垃圾的命运,酒店与旅游业,编织艺术的环保理念探索,货币的成本等。

一起来看一下低碳小组带来的报道吧。

Every group explored an essential aspect of Shanghai’s economy and culture, with a focus on how innovation, conservation, and adaptation can address pressing environmental concerns—with topics including Ecological Diversity, Sustainable Fashion, Modern Agriculture and Organic Agriculture, Green Energy, The Fate of Garbage, Hospitality and Tourism, Environmental Ethics of Art, and The Cost of Money: can e-currency be green?

Let’s take a look at the what the Low-carbon Campus group did.

全球气候变化已成为 21 世纪人类面对的最为严峻的挑战,是当前国际社会关注的焦点。2018 年,IPCC 发布的《1.5℃特别报告》显示,全球气温将会最快于 2030年上升到超过工业化前水平 1.5℃,这个温度将是引发全球极度自然灾害的临界点。

Global climate change has become the most serious challenge faced by mankind in the 21st century and also the focus of the international community. In 2018, the "1.5℃ Special Report"released by IPCC showed that the global temperature would rise to 1.5℃ above pre-industrial level by as early as 2030, which will be the critical point for causing extreme natural disasters around the world.

《巴黎协定》的目标是全球在 2050 年前实现净零排放。作为世界最大的碳排放国之一,我国也高度重视应对气候变化。2020 年 9 月 22 日,我们的主席在第 75 届联合国大会上提出“中国将提高国家自主贡献力度,采取更加有力的政策和措施,二氧化碳排放力争于 2030 年前达到峰值,努力争取 2060 年前实现碳中和”。

The Paris Agreement aims for the world to achieve net zero emissions by 2050. As one of the world's largest carbon dioxide emitters, China also attaches great importance to tackling climate change. On September 22, 2020, at the 75th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, our President announced "As China is stepping up its intended nationally determined contributions, we will do all we can to peak carbon dioxide emissions by 2030, and to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060 by adopting more effective policies and measures ".

宏润博源非常重视同学们环保意识的培养,也提醒同学们留意在校园生活中减少资源消耗和对环境的影响。此次,建设“可持续性”上海项目,我们组选择对学校各方面的资源消耗进行调研,以建设更加低碳,节能和环保的校园。经过一周的调研,低碳校园组的同学们选择了两个项目进行深度调研——光伏发电和屋顶绿化兼雨水回收系统,并完成了详细的项目提案。

SHBS attaches great importance to the cultivation of students' environmental awareness, and we also teach students how to reduce the consumption of resources as well as how to avoid doing harm to the environment on campus. In doing this year’s Building Sustainable Shanghai project, our group chose to survey the resource consumption from all aspects of campus life so that we may build a more low-carbon, energy-saving and environmentally friendly campus environment. After a week of research, students in the low-carbon campus group selected two sub-projects for in-depth research -- photovoltaic power generation and roof greening & rainwater recycling system, and put forward detailed project proposals.

“建设上海”这周的第一天,低碳校园组听取陈校长关于新能源和碳中和的背景知识讲座,接着林老师介绍了低碳校园组的项目主旨,活动内容和日程安排,指导同学们分组阅读低碳校园实例文件,引导同学们头脑风暴出6个项目:l屋顶绿化带+雨水回收系统;II搭建光伏设施发电;III改善按压式水龙头;IV 校区玻璃房改造;V 空调自动化;VI 廊房绿植栽培。第一天下午,提出项目的六位同学逐一上台阐明构思,并接受质询。最终,光伏发电和屋顶绿植项目胜出。同学们分别加入了两个项目,开始着手查询资料,设计方案。

On the first day of the “Building Shanghai week”, low-carbon campus group attended a lecture given by principal Jin on the background information of the new energy and carbon neutral. Then, Ms. Chuman Lin let us know what our group was aimed at, and our itinerary and schedule. By assigning students reading materials on campus cases of low-carbon practices, she instructed them to work out 6 sub-project groups through brainstorming: l.roof greening + rainwater recycling system;  II. Set up photovoltaic facilities for power generation;  III improve the press faucet;  IV. Campus glass room renovation;  V. Air conditioning automation;  VI. Green planting and cultivation on the roof of the glass lounge. On the afternoon of the first day, the six students who proposed their own projects stepped on the platform one by one, explained their ideas and answered questions. Eventually, the Photovoltaic and rooftop plants group won. After joining the two projects respectively, students began to search for information and devising detailed solutions.

第二天上午,全体组员走进上汽大众MEB工厂和捷氢科技公司,了解上汽大众新能源汽车研发和生产的过程,参观了壮观的长臂械组装车间,也了解了新能源储能电池的原理和产业发展。通过现场参观以及与新能源方面的专家对话,以期对同学们的项目设计有新的启发。第二天下午,同学们继续就项目方案进行讨论,构想并开始落笔项目实施方案。屋顶绿植组还登上教学楼屋顶实地勘测数据,光伏小组搜集也在收集相关数据:从学校的月度年度电费单到学校的建筑图。

On the morning of the second day, all the group members visited the MEB plant of SAIC-Volkswagen and Jieqing Technology Co., Ltd. to learn about the development and production process of SAIC-Volkswagen new energy vehicles. We also visited the magnificent long- mechanical-arm assembly workshop, and learned about the principle and industrial development of new energy storage batteries. Students expected to draw inspirations on their project designs from this field trip and conversations with experts in the field of new energy. Later that afternoon, students continued to discuss and conceive their project plans, and began to write plans on how to implement their plans. The roof planting team even climbed onto the roof of the building to survey data, and the PHOTOVOLTAIC team collected relevant data ranging from the school's monthly and annual electricity bill to the school's building plan.

第三天和第四天,低碳校园组分别连线了一位节能建筑设计师和一位光伏产业工程师,给孩子们分享专业知识和产业发展,并对孩子们的项目方案做了指导。

On the third day and the fourth day, the low-carbon campus group invited an energy-saving building designer and a photovoltaic industrial engineer respectively to share professional knowledge and industrial development with the kids, and gave some instructions on the their project plans.

第四天结束,两个项目组已完成具体方案,开始准备演讲稿,整戈待发。周五展示的时候,一共准备了四场演讲,分中英文专场,演讲者们落落大方地向校内师生和校外家长和嘉宾们讲解展示他们可持续发展项目的立意,构思和实施的可行性。演讲结束后,嘉宾们纷纷称赞同学们调研的内容具有高度专业性,并且他们能从身边的环境出发,实事求是,迎合时代的主题,探索可持续性发展,并致力于如何真正地打造低碳的社区。

By the end of the fourth day, the two project teams had completed the specific plans and began to prepare for their presentations. On Friday, they gave a total of 4 presentations, divided into speeches in both English and Chinese. Those speakers confidently and elegantly presented their ideas, and feasibility of their sustainable development projects to students, teachers, parents and other guests. At the end of the presentations, the guests praised the students for their highly professional research work, and their ability to seek truth from facts by confronting the pressing concerns of the times, to explore sustainable development, and commit themselves to truly building a low-carbon community.

建设上海项目周虽然结束了,但是项目本身还会继续。同学们的改善方案已经提交给校务委员会进行审核,研究在学校落实的可行性。同学们也会继续延伸研究,思索基于此项目参与CTB等竞赛评选。

While the Building Shanghai week was over, students would keep improving their projects. They have already submitted their plans for improvement to the school council for further feasibility study of implementation in the school. Students will also continue their research and consider participating in CTB and other competitions based on this project.

通过这一周的项目式学习活动,“可持续发展”的理念已经融入同学们的思维中。他们也更加意识到自己学习的知识与解决现实问题之间的联系,也更理解了时代赋予他们这一代的责任。真正的学习和转变在体验和实践中发生。项目最后一天,看到同学们纷纷自信热情地向大家展示他们的收获,也让我们看到了“建设上海”项目的巨大价值和意义。

Through the week-long project-based learning activities, they are more likely to think of the concept of “sustainable development”in their daily life. They are also more aware of the connection between what they are learning and the real-world problems, and more aware of the responsibilities that the time has placed on their shoulders. Real learning and transformation occur through experience and practice. On the last day of the week, we realized the great value and significance of the "Build Shanghai" programs when students presented their achievements with confidence and enthusiasm.
