The diagnostic test at the beginning of the school year accurately assessed the students' academic conditions, providing a clear direction for the new stage of teaching. The SHBS teaching system has been continuously refined: the curriculum has been further optimized, with the addition of "Spanish History and Culture", deepening business studies; the AP system has been increasingly improved, now covering 19 courses and 23 teaching classes, with multiple popular courses offering parallel classes to fully support students' diverse academic development.
In teaching practice, we adhere to a student-centered approach, emphasizing inspiration and guidance in the classroom. Through critical questioning, scenario simulation, and social connection, we stimulate students' intrinsic motivation for learning. The "Building a Smart Shanghai" PBL project to be implemented in the fall of 2025 will further promote the transfer and application of knowledge in real-world contexts.
The academic support system has been continuously improved, forming a multi-departmental support network. From one-on-one course selection and college application planning to evening study sessions, after-school tutoring, and peer tutoring programs,we provide personalized guidance and meticulous management. At the same time, we actively connect with top external resources such as Peking University's Yuanpei Program, CTB, ASDAN competitions, and iGEM, and organize university fairs and invite admissions officers to broaden students' development paths. In addition, English listening and speaking classes taught by foreign teachers are offered, supplemented by peer tutoring, English corners, and English newspaper reading and other diverse support activities, creating a mutually supportive and immersive bilingual growth environment.
SHBS adheres to the moral education philosophy of "strictness with kindness". While fostering an atmosphere of equality and freedom, it also emphasizes standardized management to promote the all-round development of students. At the same time, the rich and colorful campus activities serve as a second classroom for students to hone their abilities and shape their characters. For instance, academic and critical thinking activities are flourishing: the "Hongrun Education Salon" focuses on cutting-edge topics such as "How to Learn in the AI Era"; the TEDx event is progressing smoothly; and the newly established English debate team is taking the spirit of critical thinking to a higher stage.
From immersive morning exercises to the "Coexisting with Anxiety" creative graffiti; from digital creativity workshops to various badminton, table tennis, basketball, and frisbee competitions - students gain growth through diverse experiences.
Furthermore, the school continuously expands students' growth boundaries through a series of public welfare, international, and environmental protection projects, such as public welfare entrepreneurship design, exchanges with Spanish students, the environmental protection action in Zhujiajiao, the "Ten-Year Elite Plan" workshop, and creative library activities.
